Big breakthroughs in telesurgery has the potential to revolutionize the global healthcare industry

Recently, IPCF founder Dr. Vipul Patel and his team at the Global Robotics Institute Advent Health completed a telesurgery, which has the potential to revolutionize healthcare. 

Connecting 2 robots from Orlando to Dubai (12,000km away) and Shanghai (13,000km away) the team was able to manipulate the robots in real time dissecting and suturing on a non-human model.

This was previously not possible due to the delay in the signal, but with advances in 5G technology and new compatible robots the team successfully completed this milestone. 

This demonstration will not only advance the surgical industry but increase access to quality care and healthcare equity. Giving impoverished and distant areas access to top specialists and advanced technologies they would normal have to travel for.
